CUHKMC encourages holistic personal development of our employees. Evening runs are organised on a bi-weekly basis to promote healthy lifestyle and foster teamwork amongst colleagues. From time to time our running team would join various charity events such as Joyful Charity Run.

Our people are the most important asset of the organisation. We organise the Staff Recognition Programme on an annual basis to recognise individuals’ and teams’ professionalism and dedication to providing quality patient care, as well as their exemplary performance and contributions towards corporate mission and values.
 

Staff Recognition

Continuous learning and development are crucial to nurturing and unleashing employees’ potentials for their growth and development, as well as the delivery of quality patient care.

CUHKMC encourages and supports staff for life-long learning and development. Work Enrichment Leave providing staff with extra day off to pursue work-related knowledge, skills, and competency; and training credit system encouraging all staff to attain the designated training credits every year for continuous learning and career development are in place.

We adopt various ways of learning to match the training needs of our staff. Apart from traditional classroom training, on-line learning, interactive training workshops, design-thinking workshops and game-booths, etc are adopted to enhance the knowledge and competencies of our staff.

The annual Innovation Week promotes creativity and innovation among staff to address problems they encounter in their daily work and faced by the patients. These innovations are also shared with the public through open house activities.

Building Own Human Capital & for the Industry

In July 2023, CUHKMC has been accredited as the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Site and our in-house groomed BLS Instructors are delivering BLS Provider Training to CUHKMC’s employees.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Apart from providing training to our staff, CUHKMC has been partnering with the Hong Kong Medical Association (HKMA) to provide Continuous Medical Education (CME) training to HKMA member doctors.

CUHKMC pays great attention to the career development of our employees. We have established Career Progression Programme for designated positions. On recruitment front, internal candidates will be accorded with a higher priority than external candidates for appointment if everything being equal. We also have a well-established and structured performance management system in order to provide constructive feedback to help employees identifying areas for continuous improvement and assisting employees to outline their personal development plan including career goals, development areas and actionable milestones for career advancement.

CUHKMC Academy

As an integral part of CUHKMC with a culture of safety and innovation, CUHKMC Academy (the Academy) is established with a vision to uplift the standards and quality of hospital services, as well as to keep abreast of technology advancement and innovation. The Academy is committed to strengthen the staff competence and quality of services through the provision of continuing training and development.

With a social mission to bridge the service gap between the private and public healthcare systems in Hong Kong, CUHKMC is dedicated to offering quality healthcare service at transparent and affordable package fees. CUHKMC has also been contributing to relieve the service need of public healthcare system through operating community vaccination centre and providing healthcare services to public patients.
