The International Scoliosis Awareness Month takes place in June every year.  With the goal to educate the public of the knowledge about scoliosis and its treatment options, CUHK Medical Centre (CUHKMC) held a Health Talk on Scoliosis on 29 June 2024 (Saturday), in collaboration with CUHK Faculty of Medicine (CUHK Medicine), Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Hong Kong Scoliosis Awareness Group, attracting over 130 members from the public to attend.

We were honoured to have professors from CUHK Medicine, specialists, physiotherapist, prosthetist/orthotist and patients as guest speakers, covering various topics including scoliosis diagnosis, screening, treatment, latest scientific research findings, and patient sharing. In addition, a demonstration session was arranged to allow participants to learn about simple scoliosis screening methods, Schroth method, brace options, computerised navigation system, and intraoperative neurological monitoring system.
