World Osteoporosis Day takes place on 20 October every year. To raise public awareness on osteoporosis, CUHK Medical Centre (CUHKMC) held a Health Talk on Osteoporosis on 5 October 2024 (Saturday), in collaboration with the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, CUHK and Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association, attracting over 150 members of the public to attend.

Professionals from CUHKMC, including specialist in Orthopaedics and Traumatology, specialist in Family Medicine, physiotherapist, Chinese medicine practitioner and dietitian, shared the latest information on osteoporosis with the public and answered their questions. Apart from the health talk, ultrasound screening was also available for participants to undergo preliminary bone density check, allowing them to understand their risk of developing osteoporosis.
