Liver Health Programme

Liver Health Programme

Liver Health Programme (the Programme) is a screening service designed for people at high risk for liver cancer. The Programme adopts a 3-biomarker approach for blood analysis with enhanced sensitivity* in detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In conjunction with liver imaging, the Programme provides more information for liver cancer surveillances.

Programme Features

  • Suitable for high risk groups including hepatitis B/C carriers, patients of cirrhosis, and individuals with other risk factors such as obesity, smoking and diabetes
  • Two biomarkers, AFP-L3 and PIVKA-II, are added in the blood analysis to supplement the conventional approach of testing a single biomarker, AFP with improved sensitivity for HCC detection  and help to detect HCC in the early stages*
  • Non-invasive ultrasonography for detecting liver abnormalities
  • Supported by our multi-disciplinary team to offer subsequent diagnostic and treatment services for patients in need
